The bar at Bar Charley with no TVs

Here’s an attempt to comprehensively identify all the bars in DC without TVs (if a spot is mostly a restaurant, like many fine dining spots, they aren’t included). These are mostly nice cocktail bars (or wine bars) but not always. For those who think all DC bars have tons of TVs, well there are at least 40 on this list. As a starting point, I used the BYT guide (which has some inaccuracies), this Fritz Hahn piece from 2016, and this Tim Carman story about restaurants without TVs in early 2019. Spots that have a permanent TV but it doesn’t seem like it is at end of piece.

Bars That Have a TV But Usually Off or Hidden

• All Souls (Shaw): flat screen in corner almost always off except for big sporting events
• Compass Rose (U St): mirror behind the bar doubles as TV mostly off
• Archipelago (U St): TV only used to show tiki movies
• Dew Drop Inn (Brookland/Eckington): projector for certain football games
