After comprehensively covering rooftops and roof decks in DC, Barred in DC has now turned to outdoor bars and beer gardens that won’t require climbing lots of stairs or taking an elevator. This is a bit more tricky to document, since there are literally hundreds and hundreds of sidewalk cafes, streateries, and back patios in DC bars and restaurants. To focus this a bit but also attempt to be comprehensive, this list focuses only on bars that have outside ground floor spaces (so excludes the bars previously covered, including elevated outdoor bars) that have an outdoor bar, outdoor seats that sit along a window/opening, or otherwise are so dominated by outdoor seating that you would never go there to sit inside.
Note a lot of patio window bars are closed in most of summer due to heat and many listed below are seasonal. Those is red are Barred in DC picks.
