Darnell’s Bar, the divey, dancey, loungey, diverse bar off U Street, closed at the end of January, Barred in DC has learned. The cozy spot, officially known as Darnell’s at Manchester, shut down after 6+ years after the building housing it was sold at Florida and W NW. Darnell Perkins started the bar in spring 2010 and was a popular, homey spot over the years. Darnell recently indicated to ABRA that the license will be sold soon.
